Ninja Level Traffic Engineering
Broadband Bonding technology enables advanced traffic engineering for an enterprise, to combine their MPLS circuit and broadband lines (such DSL or cable) together into a one big fast IP connection. It is the best of both worlds. MPLS might have some unique desirable QoS features, but may lack the throughput capacity and DSL would bring in cost effective bandwidth. Broadband Bonding technology facilitates this type of an approach where you can have your MPLS traffic routed over the bonded DSL lines when/if MPLS goes down (without even loosing your VPN session that was running over MPLS). This is really “ninja level” traffic engineering. Needless to say, you can have your VPN running over the bonded DSL lines and ditch the MPLS. Bonding is key as it solves the low uplink rate of DSL lines, so with bonding, the VPN can utilize the total bandwidth available on all links simultaneously.
